it seems that you are framing yourself as virtuous and those sending angry responses as inferior in some way. and yet folks like you and oster continue to miss a very simple step- an apology. oster advocated vaccine mandates, tweeting about how abstainers should be pressured by family and kept off of airplanes and public places, where was her apology before penning that half-baked plea for amnesty? I assume you have a similar alignment--where is your apology? The simple words "im sorry" and " i was wrong" help create the space for forgiveness. folks like you, though, seem to be asking and advocating for forgiveness without being able to really look in the mirror and see your participation in something quite atrocious. for those actually paying attention, it was clear that vaccine mandates and lockdowns weren't helping...the vaccine was never shown to stop transmission. some of us didn't get it wrong. some of us didn't transgress the rights of others. so it's quite a reach to frame yourself as superior and above the fray when i haven't seen any self-reflection in your pieces, and less so in Oster's.

or to put it even more succinctly- only "one side" of this pandemic issues "got it wrong" only one side, therefore needs to be forgiven. It's ironic that these essays come from ppl in that camp.
