SAR Snapshot: More on Henri Nouwen
A new podcast episode connects some of my work with Nouwen's influence on my life
This past November, I wrote about a week I spent during college with the Catholic writer Henri Nouwen. As I noted in that post, a thank you letter I sent to Nouwen after our visit eventually led—decades later—to an opportunity for me to write an endorsement for his book, Following Jesus.
A friend who came across my November reflection forwarded it to the Henri Nouwen Society. A few days later, I received a gracious invitation from the Society’s executive director, Karen Pascal, to join her on her podcast, Henri Nouwen Now & Then.
Karen and I had a lovely conversation, and I was particularly grateful for her deep engagement with my new book, Learning to Disagree, and the connections she drew between the tone and substance of my work and Nouwen’s influence on my life.
