This is marvelous! I have long hoped that more faculty would model for their students (well, really, and for all of us) what discussion looks like, what scholarly and civil disagreement can not like, what respect for the positions others have come to based on deep analysis of complex issues can look like. Respect and toleration for the thoughtful stances of individuals is not weakness or capitulation. To me this is academic engagement at its best. Bravo!
